Event Details

Let's teach our children to take care of the biggest thing they will inherit from us - Our Planet!

Funfact: A single mature tree can absorb carbon dioxide at a rate of 48 lbs./year and release enough oxygen back into the atmosphere to support 2 human beings.

The Day of Service is an event designed for children to give back to Nature.

Children participate in a number of hands-on eco friendly activities such as planting trees, sowing seeds, nuturing plants and learning all the way.

Kids work in small groups of 4-6 kids each with a parent to help out.

A team of eco experts will also be on hand to educate and entertain the children on various aspects of nature.

Please spread the word among your friends and family and have them sign-up.
Any good deed is done better with a group of loved ones!

This event is open to all!

Tools and supplies required for the nature activities will be done/provided by Green Friends and Common Vision. Participants do not have to bring any thing but themselves.

Amrita Bala Kendra, Common Vision & Green Friends

Amrita Bala Kendra is a program that tries to give children an understanding of spiritual principles and shows them how to bring these simple teachings into their daily lives through stories, bhajans, field trips, arts and crafts, celebration of festivals and service projects. The Bala Kendra program focuses on values, traditions, and spiritual practices.

Common Vision brings inspiring and relevant earth education to diverse communities and to cultivate dynamic and experienced leaders in sustainability practice and education. With a fleet of vegetable-powered vehicles, a dedicated staff, and big vision, Common Vision’s mobile operation weaves a wide network in California as it creates and inspires collaborations amongst volunteers, schools, farms, mentors, nurseries, musicians, and native peoples.

Green Friends is an initiative to help us reawaken the awareness of our unity with all of creation and to cultivate an attitude of love and reverence for Mother Nature.
